Weekend Recap

This past weekend Chase and I did a whole lot of.... NOTHING! It was fabulous! Friday night we got some furniture from his parents house, which resulted in the moving out of our loveseat and moving in of these two chairs. It then resulted in moving our living room around into any and every conceivable notion that we could make the furniture blend and fit into the existing space. Needless to say, we accomplished that task. Chase is the one to give the credit to. He came up with this arrangement (and I think it works pretty well!). We've been testing it all weekend.

Saturday we continued our subdued weekend with no big plans. Painting of some nails, he hung out with his friends, etc. We saw Shutter Island-- not half bad for a psychological thriller.

Yesterday I confirmed my love for my husband and watched ALL of Lonesome Dove. To some of you, this may seem like another western movie, but it's not... It's 6 hours of western movies! That's how much I love my husband- 6 hours worth (well, probably more but I quit counting after the movie). Lonesome Dove actually didn't disappoint. It had some action, some comedy, some romance. Of course, I cried in the movie and Chase laughed. Who cries at a western anyways!

So we started off Monday with me being sick. Under the weather and sick of this weather. Where is the Oklahoma mild winters, where it's 60 degrees in February. I'm missing it! On a side note, Ty and Rissa are coming to visit in less than 2 weeks. We just cannot be more excited!

Under Construction

Our abode has been under constant construction/projects lately! We've been moving furniture around and trying to get new looks. It's tough when you only have 1100 sq. ft. to move furniture around to. We've put a lot out in the garage-thankfully we have that extra space!

Tyler and Rissa are coming to visit in less than a month and we couldn't be more than excited for that! We have re-decorated and re-arranged our guest bedroom. I'm excited to have someone come and stay in it. Above are the pictures of what it looks like now, minus the red laundry bag. I'm working on getting caught up!

On another note... We went to some junk furniture places this weekend and bought some things for projects. I'm in a crafty mode and we bought this huge chunk of wood (for a lack of better words) that I plan on salvaging and repurposing it into a table... News on that project will come later on. Another project that I need some help on (RISSA) is this picture. I saw it in a furniture store and loved it... What do ya'll think? I'm also needing someone's art/painting skills. Rissa, I thought you would need something to do when you were in OKC! Of course, I'm thinking this picture but on a smaller scale. Is it achievable?

Lastly, we got creative with displaying pictures! We have a limited number of frames and got creative on how to show our wonderful pictures that aren't in frames (because there are so many). We really like this!

Random Weekly Events

Well, last weekend we headed to Dallas for Paycom's (Chase's employer) Christmas party... I know, Christmas parties in February-- that's what happens when you deal with money and have all sorts of year-end and tax issues.
We left OKC and headed for Dallas Friday night. We spent the night with his grandparents. We went to eat at Hook, Line, and Sinker Saturday morning for some fried catfish. We then headed to spend some time at Northpark Shopping Center. After we parted from his grandparents, we headed to the Gaylord Texan in Grapevine, TX. This is a resort that the party was at. We got a great hotel room for the night.
The holiday party started with a Casino night. We got $3000 of "casino" money. We play Blackjack and Craps. We ended up liking Craps, which sounds kinda funny typing it out. We came out ahead too. We ended up with $3100. Vegas here we come! After the casino ended, we were ushered in for a buffet dinner, which was great! We watched some of Chase's fellow employees get hypnotized. That was interesting! I may have considered if I hadn't been a guest, or in a dress. Did you know that an hour of hypnotism is the equivalent of 8 hours of sleep? Sounds like a good way to catch up to me.
I'm going to try to attach some pictures of the event. We didn't take a whole lot, but it's hard to find people to take your picture for you all the time.

Tonight is our big Valentine's date. I think it is also combined with our 5 month anniversary. That's right, we've been married 5 months today... Where does all the time go? It does not seem like it's been 5 months. We have some furniture projects going on at our house, so those will follow in some later weekend posts!

Hope everyone has a great night! (I don't know how to publish pictures on here yet, and I think Chase is waiting on me to exchange presents- yes we can't wait. It's sad) So I will post pictures later, when I figure it out!

Figured we should hop on board...

Well, Chase and I have finally joined everyone in the world of blogging. I am sure this first blog will be the toughest to write because I'm not really sure what to write at this exact moment! We are lucky to have some family members close, but others are a ways away. We thought little updates via internet would make us all feel closer! I just hope we have entertaining stories to tell because my life is definitely not as entertaining as some of the blogs I read(Alyson). I need someone to help me with the rules and etiquette of blogging, and how to get neat backgrounds. PLEASE!

Maybe I should update everyone on our lives and what's been going on for the last few months. We got married September 12th and it will definitely be a day that we'll never forget (for multiple reasons). We went to Maui for our honeymoon and I loved my first trip off the continental U.S. Chase is working at Paycom Payroll as a payroll specialist. I am working for Clark & Mitchell, a medical malpractice law firm. We are living in OKC in our little house with our 2 dogs.

Sadly, that is all I can think of to write for now... I think I want this first blogging experience to be over! Hope everyone is doing great!
